GlobeSailor in Croatia

Just before the season  is about to start for sailing holidays in Croatia, we wanted to take the time to visit our bases and our trusted partners. My colleague Jean-François who is in charge of the French speaking clients (and Croatia as a destination) and I have made our way beautiful Croatia, to check out the new boat models in our partners’ fleet and to put the quality of existing boats and the service of the individual bases under microscope and of course negotiate the best prices for our clients. Furthermore, we had the International Charter Expo in Zagreb on our agenda in the same week.

After we had landed in Zagreb, we rented a car and drove straight down to Split, which is located in the heart of Dalmatia. Split is the second largest city in Croatia, and a remarkably historic, 1700 years old city with the Diocletian’s Palace dating from the Roman times. When is comes to yacht charter in Split the main marina is the ACI marina and the adjacent Nava marina. Both marinas are just 10 minutes walk from the Old Town. From the Split Airport (Resnik) to the marinas there is about 25 km distance, approximately a 35 min drive. Both marina’s are quite good and with facilities every modern marina should have. In case you have small kids there is also a small park/playground for your youngsters to have fun while you wait for the check in.

The road took us to our next bases in the Split area; Kastela and Trogir.

The advantage to charter from Kastela and Trogir is that the are located very close to the Split Airport, only a 10 minute drive. Very convenient if you wish to jump on the boat as soon as you pick up your luggage from the airport and to avoid the crowd in the center of Split.  In case you a re looking to rent a catamaran in Split there is a big selection of very nice models such as a beautiful Lagoon 560 from our partner Adriatic Sailing that we had the chance to see and explore the interior. There is also a new entry to their fleet, in case you wish to rent a Lagoon 560 S2 this one is a beauty!

The next base we had the chance to see is Sibenik, a typical charming medditeranean city and a great base to charter  no matter if you are arriving from the Zadar airport or Split airport, both are just a 50 minute drive from the marina in Sibenik.  Very modern marina, with many facilities and restaurants and bars.  There is a luxury hotel with SPA located just next to it in case you are arrving few days before, an excellent place to stay!

Just next to Sibenik are the famous Krka waterfalls, that you can reach with your sailboat, a beautiful oasis  where you can take a refreshing swim!

One of the many jewels in Dalmatia is Biograd na Moru where we met one of our best partners  – Angelina Yacht Charter.

The main marinas in the Zadar region are in Sukosan (the biggest marin in the Adriatic sea) and Zadar marina, which also has very good start point if you wish to explore the islands of northern Dalmatia.

Once again we would like to thank  to all of our partners who have taken the time and given us a warm welcome in their base!

At the end of our Dalmatian adventure we headed back to Zagreb to participate in the International Charter Expo 2016.
