Fabienne is a passionate traveler… and a lucky one! Remember, in 2022, she won our big contest “A lifetime of sailing holidays”, giving her the opportunity to sail with GlobeSailor every year. Over the past two years, she has enjoyed a cruise in the Saronic Gulf in Greece and a catamaran charter with skipper in Corsica. This year, she embarked on her third cruise on a crewed catamaran in the turquoise waters of the Ionian Islands in Greece. She shares her experience with us, day by day.

A very enjoyable cruise, with perfect weather and glorious sunshine from start to finish! Thank you to Pietros, our skipper, and Persa, our hostess: everything was perfect, from the sailing to life on board! Thank you also to our roommates for the week, Elisabeth, Charlotte, Théo, Lucas, and Gabriel: well done, guys, you’ve mastered the art of sailing!

Fabienne’s logbook, sailing in Greece
Day 1: Heading for Syvota via Ágios Nikólaos cove
We set sail from Gouvia Marina on a Sunday morning after breakfast and our first night aboard the catamaran.
“It took about three hours to reach the mainland. We were lucky enough to spot a dolphin, the only one we saw during the entire cruise. We stopped at the end of the morning in a magnificent cove in Ágios Nikólaos: swimming, snorkeling, paddleboarding… and our first lunch on board prepared by our hostess Persa, an exceptional cook who treated us to her delicious Greek specialties all week long.“

The day ended in Syvota with a stroll through the village, drinks at sunset, and dinner in a typical Greek tavern.
Day 2: The island of Paxos and its small villages
After a hearty breakfast, the catamaran set sail for the island of Paxos. Fabienne and the rest of the crew enjoyed a short sail to a cove with crystal-clear waters.
“We then headed to the small port of Lakka to shelter from the wind. There we discovered a very pretty village. It was an ideal day for combining exploration with moments of relaxation on board.”

Day 3: The Blue Caves and Gaios
The sail to Gaios, the largest village on Paxos, was punctuated by spectacular discoveries:
“We sailed along magnificent cliffs and admired the Blue Caves, sea caves with turquoise waters accessible only by sea. We stopped for a swim and lunch in the south of the island to enjoy the scenery. Another beautiful anchorage and an excellent meal on board, as usual.”

The day continued with a visit to Gaios, a walk on the beach, and a delicious ice cream at an ice cream shop recommended by Pietros, our skipper.
Day 4: Antipaxos and Parga
The cruise continued towards the crystal-clear waters of Antipaxos, renowned for their marine biodiversity.
“We enjoyed a cove with crystal-clear waters, populated by multicolored fish. In the afternoon, we took advantage of the wind that had picked up to sail to Parga on the mainland. It was a wonderful time! At anchor, it was possible to paddle to a small beach or explore a path leading to an olive grove and a monastery. In the evening, we had dinner ashore and discovered Parga, a pretty, very touristy port.”

Day 5: From Parga to Syvota
“We spent the morning relaxing on a beautiful beach near Syvota, swimming and paddleboarding, before sailing to the marina at the foot of the old fort in Corfu, a place steeped in history overlooking the sea. From the deck of the catamaran, the view of the Venetian fortress is spectacular.”

Day 6: Last discoveries before returning
On the last day, Fabienne and her crew enjoyed a morning stroll in Corfu before heading to Agni Beach and visiting one last sea cave, enjoying the crystal-clear waters one last time before returning to Marina Gouvia.
